No Thanksgiving here in Guatemala, not even a mention of it. I had forgotten all about it. This week was another normal week with not much new. I am in a trio now though with Elder Castrow as his companion got sent home. Trios can be difficult at times, but they can also be a lot of fun, it just depends on the time of day. Also after receiving the Christmas packages it is full of Christmas at my house and I love it! Alma 8:19 was my favorite scripture this week and shared it with a lot of members and received a lot. Two pizza parties this week with members, so that was a lot fun too. We are still working hard though. I bought a little soccer player speaker and using the aux cord I hook it up to the little DVD player we have in our house and found some church hymns on a CD so we can have a little music now at our house. This last week as well I went to pray in English and struggled through the prayer. I had a really difficult time with it. I was thinking in Spanish and translating it to English in my mind. I thought that was pretty cool though as it shows I am progressing in my Spanish. I am not close to fluent yet and still struggle with Spanish, do not think my Spanish is great. Saturday we went to the Bishops house and painted his Kitchen, that was pretty fun and he bought us all pastries. At a members house too this last week they gave us sugar cane to eat, its something that a lot of the kids here love to eat. It was alright, but I did not love it. It is getting colder and colder or as Dad would say I have gotten weak and I have broken out the sweaters, sweats, and long sleeves. Last night walking to dinner a drunk started yelling at us and said, "Go back to your country you pieces of trash!" to which Elder Zuleta responded, "Do not annoy/molest the servants of the Lord." The drunk was not to happy with that and started running/stumbling towards us, but we just walked away. He eventually stopped and threw his bottle at the ground. I thought it was pretty funny. I get harassed a lot by drunks, being white, but just with little comments. It usually is just funny though. Ponderize: Mormon 9:21 -- Having the best day of his life, Elder Gruber Rainbow for Mom.
