Last P-day we made flour tortillas and turned them into a breakfast burrito with beans, eggs, and cream. They were just alright, but it was fun to be with the zone and make them. Tried making a pizza from the dough, but did not work as well as when I was working at papa johns...
Had back to back divisions this week and both times out of my area. The first time was with Elder Austin from Boston (he is a goofball but is awesome to talk and hang out with) and the next day with Elder Lainez. They were a lot of fun. I had to go "#2" when I was at the house of Elder Austin and they do not have a toilet seat either, oh but that is normal here. Toilet seats are like a luxury thing or something as not a lot of people have them. I had a multi Zone conference this Thursday too in Utatlan. President talked on becoming the 4th missionary, Ate lunch there, and had a great time. We watched the new Easter videos from the church this year and I like the cartoon one, but the other one is just ok. Also saw an awesome video of a 5 year old girl singing Gethsemane. It is like a furnace in our house at night so every now and then i just go and rest in the fridge/freezer. I bought some coconut in a bag... man I missed my coconut and coconut water! Also bought a large pizza with cheese and bacon on the crust Saturday... SO GOOD! love pizza ;) I'm excited for conference... can not wait! It is like Christmas... kinda... Things are great! finger is all better, healthy, DOING AWESOME, and of course HAVING THE BEST FREAKING DAY OF MY LIFE ;) -- Having the best day of his life, Elder Gruber

This week was a good week.... Random things... -Woke up this week with a different type of bug bite and the other ones have gone away so who knows what is biting me in the night. Who knows.. -Had a baptism yesterday after church that went really well. It was the first baptism in this area since the beginning of August. We ended the drought. The bishop baptized her and hopefully she will be confirmed next Sunday. -Ordered Pizza Hut Saturday night to celebrate the baptism! WOOHOO! PIZZA!!!! - Also this week on my thumb I noticed a little yellow spot that looked like an infection (puss bubble thing with a black spot) so yesterday I went to the bishops house to get a needle and pop it to drain it out. Sterilized the needle and popped it but nothing came out. A bit confused the bishop told me that it was fungus. Cleaned it out with alcohol and then he made me hold my thumb under boiling (really hot) water with salt to kill all the fungus. Applying anti fungus cream now to it, just to make sure it is all gone. It is doing well and looks fine. - Yesterday showed up to church and the bishop told me I had to talk so I had about 5 minutes to think about something to talk on. Gave a talk on the restoration and the many blessings we can receive from it. - Might be changing houses here at the end of the month if all goes well. Other than that there is not much new. It was a good week, weather is hotter and hotter and I have been eating ice cream everyday from little tiendas for about Q1. The best flavors are peanut and coconut. -- Having the best day of his life, Elder Gruber Below is our church building and grounds.
New comp... - Elder Noack - from Coban here in Guatemala - 6 months in the mission - very laid back and chill. We have a lot of great conversations. - only negative is he will eat all the food in the house. After the first night I lost half my food for the week. Talked to him about it and hopefully things will be better. - he is from the same zone as before. He just changed areas and districts so I already knew him from P-Days. Do not have bed bugs, it is something else. Looks like a mosquito killer (or bigger mosquito) and it is the same as a mosquito. Do not know where they are coming from or why they only bite me but apparently I could wake up one morning with dengue, chicken gunya (chikungunya) or the other disease here. Praying that doesn't happen and that I can figure things out. Do not see any bugs ever in the house so I am confused as to where thy all come from. Last P-Day had a "party" in the house of Boulevard as a district to say good bye to Elder Rojas and had "Macarone," a little restaurant here in this zone. I had lasagna, garlic bread, and ice cream. It was all so good. Everything else is just normal, life goes on. -- Having the best day of his life, Elder Gruber New Comp- Elder Noack
This change was one week shorter than all the rest due to the change in MTC rules for missionaries speaking their own language so changes are taking place. We got the call last night and I will be receiving a new companion tomorrow. Should be interesting. I am also taking this opportunity as well to deep clean the house and try and always have it be clean (hopefully my next comp will be a cleaner person, that should help a ton too). Other than that this week was fairly frustrating in terms of the missionary work. We lost a lot of investigators and 2 of our fetches (baptismal dates) for the month of March- more or less fell. I know they will be baptized, but one I am no longer sure. We lost a lot of our investigators and had a really hard time getting into houses this week. I am not sure why but this week was a harder week for the missionary work. Nevertheless do not think I am not happy, nor high in spirits because I am, I am having the best day of my life and am optimistic for this next week, if we do not ever fail or have a rough week we will never fully understand or appreciate when things are going well. We fail at times to have more joy later and understand better the blessings we have had. Other things that stood out this week include: - Burger King for dinner (yum!) - Bed bugs (UGH) trying to get rid of them and I think after today I should be bug free. Sprayed (drenched) the bed in protox (bug killer) and put everything in the wash. - Had the best breakfast of the mission. On divisions with Elder Wright in Boulevard, we were invited to breakfast at the house of the first counselor to the bishop. He is a chef so we were pretty excited. He worked for Ihop and currently works for Macaroni Grill. We had eggs with onion and tomato (omelet style) but with REAL (American) mozzarella cheese melted on top. We also had fried potatoes seasoned to perfection, and pancakes. The pancakes were heavenly, light, fluffy, and airy. We were also given syrup (real American -maybe Canadian- syrup it was so good) along with peanut butter! I went into a food comma afterwards and my stomach felt like it was back in the states. DELICIOUS! - Ate lunch twice on Sunday. Got invited to eat lunch with the bishop on Sunday and after church another less active family that we reactivated invited us to lunch too and instead of saying no, because we already had lunch plans, we just decided to double up our lunch. Can never have too much food. Having the best day of his life, Elder Gruber Sports Groceries Outside my apartment. I am unable to take too many pictures outside- because of the risk of my camera being stolen. Burger King Tags My hair gel.
